Responsibility for leading Key Stage 2
To start 1st September 2010

We are an average sized primary school where almost all the pupils are White British.

The school has an above average proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is above average.

Following the 2006 inspection, a number of changes to the leadership and management of the school took place: the current Headteacher has been in post since April 2008.

The school provides a friendly, caring environment where pupils, who face personal difficulties, and their families, feel well supported. (OFSTED,2009).

The school holds a Healthy Schools Award, the Charter Mark for Inclusion, the Basic Skills Mark and the Eco-School Bronze and Silver Awards. The school is currently subject to Special Measures, and is looking to accelerate its exit through the appointment of an outstanding classroom practitioner, passionate about learning and teaching and, committed to raising standards through example and innovation.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an outstanding, dynamic classroom practitioner with an excellent understanding of how children learn.
  • Can make a positive impact within and beyond their own classroom.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate inspire lead and support colleagues.
  • Has a commitment to working as part of a team and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, governors, the Local Authority and Partner schools.
  • Can lead by example and be a positive role model.
  • A commitment to celebrating and fostering the multi-ethnic nature of the local community, and wider areas.
  • Can work strategically with the Leadership Team to bring about swift and sustainable improvement.
  • Is Committed to raising standards through example and innovation
