doncaster lifestyle There is an incredible transformation changing the face and personality of Doncaster. There is a real buzz about as major projects and developments deliver an exciting mix of new investments, vitality and success. These physical changes are creating a lively atmosphere where people want to live, work and play.

Superbly located in the centre of England, Doncaster's excellent multi-modal transport links, accessibility and land availability give the Borough an edge over many of its neighbouring cities in Yorkshire and the Humber making it a choice location for living and working alike. Three motorways (M18, A1(M) and the M62) cross the Borough. We are on the East Coast Mainline making London just ninety minutes away and our new international airport has now opened.

Any aspiring city needs to provide an environment that gives good quality of life and Doncaster is no exception. As well as working to provide safe, clean and sustainable communities, the Borough is widening its range of leisure facilities to improve residents' sense of well-being.

In the past few years there has been a very noticeable improvement in quality of life for Doncaster people! As well as the creation of thousands of new jobs, we have improved educational attainment and made robust progress on tackling deprivation. Our housing sector offers a combination of urban and rural living at growing, but competitive prices.

We now have a fantastic new Community Sports Complex – a 15,000 seater state of the art venue at Doncaster Lakeside which is home to Doncaster Rovers Football Club, Doncaster Rovers Belles Women’s football Club, Doncaster Lakers Rugby League Club, and the Doncaster and Stainforth Athletics Club. Complementing the professional sporting activities are a wealth of community facilities, from five-a-side pitches to a martial arts centre.

We are also currently redeveloping our racecourse making it an even more suitable home for the St Leger, the world's oldest classic horse race. The redevelopment will include the creation of a new exhibition and conference centre and a four star business class hotel. A planned Civic and Cultural Quarter with a new performance venue will provide a town centre location for learning arts as well as for a wider range of performing arts. Doncaster has thriving arts and cultural attractions with something to suit all tastes. Or if you prefer just to get away from it all, the Borough has a range of rural environments to enjoy.
