  • Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) – Applicants may be: mature graduates who want to continue earning while they train to be a teacher; already working in a support role in school or be in the final year of their degree. Training is tailored to individual needs. Entry to the GTP is highly competitive and places (especially in Primary) are allocated to the best graduates within distinct categories.

  • Registered Teacher Programme (RTP) – Similar to GTP, but where applicants already have 2 years of a full time degree (or equivalent) and are employed in a Doncaster school.

Subject Knowledge Booster Courses - Provide subject knowledge support to Post Graduate teacher trainees prior to, and/or during Initial Teacher Training to assist successful progression to Qualified Teacher Status.

Are you a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)?

Doncaster offers an excellent Induction Support and Training Programme for NQTs. This is led by School Improvement Advisors who can be contacted on (01302) 737989 (Primary) / 736725 (Secondary) or the School Improvement Service.
